Best of 2010 - #15

Jimmy Eat World has grown up. They were huge drivers in the emo scene with Clarity and Bleed American. Invented slows the tempos down a bit but still contains the heartfelt lyrics Jimmy Eat World is known for. From the opener (Heart Is Hard To Find) with its acoustic guitars and hand claps, you know the album will be a bit different, but is still eminently listenable and catchy. The first 8 tracks carry you along, each seeming to build upon the one before. The album hits my high point on track 10 (Action Needs An Audience) with the guitar out front in the mix and quiet vocals pulsing into the chorus.
